No Smoking

Saturday night I went to a bonfire and everyone knows that the smell of the smoke lingers on you for hours after you leave the bonfire #MOGirlProblem

It's Monday morning and the smell is still in my hair even after washing my hair twice.

Solution: dryer sheets!
Not only will it remove the static from your hair, but it also gets rid of that smoke smell.
Just take any generic brand dryer sheet (preffferabley scented) and rub all over your hair from top to bottom- avoiding the roots.
My hair is long and took 2 dryer sheets and it took the smell right out!
Figured this would be good for gettingt rid of the smell from bars also.

Green thumb

After the awful winter we've had here in Missouri I was ready for some spring!
I've been in the mood to garden but being in a college house I don't have a lot of freedom to do that.
Here are some trendy ways I added green to my house.
The hanging terrarium. Stole the idea from Pinterest.
What I did:
Took a 1 gal plastic fish bowl (they have them at pet smart)
Drilled a hole 2inches from the rim.
Put an eye bolt in it.
Added my succulents
Then hung it from a ceiling hook.
At first I used chain but I switched to using hemp rope (the chain was kind of an eye sore).
Air plants!
These little baby air plants are so trendy right now and perfect for people who forget to water their plants because they live off the air through their special leaves!
I was wondering through the Chesterfield outlet mall and came across a store called Always Spring and adopted these cuties!
What I did:
Cleaned out a pickle jar
Took some rocks from the yard
And just placed the air plants in there
*they do need to be misted or 'bathed' with distiled water twice a week

Can't wait for the big one to bloom!!!
So excited I got some green in my house!
Happy spring!

#openingdayselfie

So being from the St.Louis area., you know I am a HUGE Cardinals fan (the baseball team, not football ew).
Well Monday was opening day and it was the first opening day in 3 years I hadn't gone to.
Why?
Because work sucks.
I had to go to work but that didn't mean I wasn't going to represent my team.
What I wore
Red maxi skirt
Red sparkley Toms
Oversized white button down (tied up)
I later added a red beaded statement necklace (excuse the work tag in the pic haha)
Go Cards!!!

Bunny tales

So, I have a pet bunny. His name is nugget. He does a lot of crazy stuff. It's almost exactly the same as having a dog because he will literally chew up everything.
Including sock, towels, shoes, cords.
Well tonight he picked something new to chew on. My iPhone case.
It's just a cheap case more meant to be fashionable rather then protective.
But still, seriosuly I thought having a rabbit would be easier to take care of than a dog.

Wore Yesterday, Wear Today- Maxi Dress

So I have recently recovered from being deathly ill (jk I just lost my voice which in my opinion is a tragedy) so that's why I didn't post for a while.

Well anyway today's post is about how you can take your summer maxi dresses and wear them for the colder weather.
Just add a jean jacket, belt it, add a scarf, and pair it with some boots.
BAM! Cute new fall outfit!
Stay stylish :)

Trend Alert : Seeing Spots

Who doesn't LOVE polka dots!? Well if you don't you better start because they are popping up every where. I've mostly noticed them on fashion tops.
The key to this trend is not to go over board. I only have three pieces with polka dots on them (two dresses and a shirt). Too many pieces and you'll start to look like a Dalmatian :)
Also stick to basic colors like black dots on a white shirt or white dots on a pink dress. But I wouldn't do purple dots...or any bright color for that matter. You don't want to look prehistoric.
Well stay stylish!

Wore yesterday, wear today.

So now that's it's getting a little more chilly I bet your about to take all your spring and summer dresses to some resale shop where they are going to pay you only about 3% of what you actually paid for them.
Well STOP!
Go get yourself a pair of leggings in black grey and brown and save some money.
For example, the outfit I'm wearing today...
A dress from spring+brown leggings+ boots= a great fall outfit :)
You could even add a scarf and cardi if u wanted!
Stay stylish!

I love my job

I probably shouldn't be blogging right now considering all the homework I have to do, but look at these CUTE long sleeve basics Ts i got from AE!!! Only $20 (well I got them for much less bc I work there). Plus I got this awesome scarf to go with them. This scarf goes with everything in my fall wardrobe! Defiantly an investment! I only spent $13 for 2 new outfits (you do the math). I love my job :)

Trend Alert?- women's westerns

Women's westerns doesn't mean cowboy shirts it just means a button down shirt. I've seen these around campus alot today. For example my retail class is 60% girls. 1/3 of them (including me) was wearing so kind of women's button down. They come on in short sleeve, long sleeve, cotton, different colors, patterns and the most popular- denim. My favorite way to wear mine is with dark jeggings (or leggings). Another way to wear them is tucked into a pencil skirt. Are these women's westerns going to be a trend for fall? Or just a fad right now

Jeans

So I've realized that ever since I started working at AE, jeans have been an essential part of my wardrobe. I used to be a leggings and dresses kind of girl and maybe only owned 4 pairs of jeans. Well now this is what has happened...
I now own 7 pairs of jeans. 2 skinny, 2 skinny kicks, 2 jeggings, and 2 slim boot. So correction 8 pairs.
My new rule: if you don't own 7+ pairs of jeans in your fall wardrobe, you dont have enough.

Trend Alert- Mint Green

So this color was first introduce to us in the spring on into summer but now the MINT GREEN trend is carrying over to fall! This color doesn't stop! This is defiantly the color of the year and every fashionista has to own something in this color! A great way to add this color to your wardrobe is with a pair of mint green skinny cords from AE! if your not big on colored pants try adding a scarf or cardi in mint green for fall :)
Stay stylish!

Neon Pre-Summer

I know I haven't posted in a while and that is because the month of April was crazy busy. I was trying to balance 3 jobs, school, family, boyfriend. It was ridiculous. However I finished up school and I'm now down to 1 job at American Eagle.
Because I now work at American Eagle, my blog is probably going to consist of a lot more of their clothing. I personally don't think this is a bad thing so...anyway.... I've noticed that spring was all about the "festival" type patterns, but for summer, the trend is going to be NEON. Especially mixing neon colors.
Below is an example (something I wore the other day to work actually).

  NEON PRE-SUMMER
 - Neon yellow feather weight tee
 - destroyed jegging (or shorts; optional)
 - light weight print scarf (with neon colors in it)
 - white summer sandal
 *All from American Eagle

TIPS: If you going to mix neon colors, make sure they are in with in the same color range. Example of a neon color mix DON'T; neon green mixed with neon purple.
Some of my favorite neon color mixs are:
yellow, teal
teal, blue
purple, yellow

Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

So...you know what is a week from today?!
OPENING DAY AT BUSCH STADIUM!
Heck yes :)

My obsession with the St.Louis Cardinals (2011 World Series Champs BTW), inspired this outfit. This outfit is also what I myself will be wearing to opening day!
Yes! I got tickets! Standing room only...but ya know at least I get in.

Opening Day Outfit:
- You got to represent the Champs with a 2011 World Series Tee which you can get from just about ANY Sports store in the STL Area.

- It might be a little chilly that day so you might need a jacket like this super soft Cardinals jacket from Victoria Secret which say "Take Me Home to the Cardinals" on the back. CUTE!

- Again, it might be a kind of cold, so rock the dark wash jeggings from American Eagle. I roll them up and make them crops, just a little styling tip ;)

- What are you going to carry your tickets and cracker jack in?! How about this cute mini graphic logo STL bag from Victoria Secret! Just the right size!

- Even though you like baseball your still a girl! So top the outfit off with a Cardinals hair bow and sparkly red TOMS! (Which the glitter reds only come in youth sizes but I'm a women's 7 and fit in a youth 4.5, just a little shopping tip ;) ).

OK! Now your ready to look your best for Opening Day! Have Fun STL Fans :)

5 Tips for a Shopaholic

This is a picture of a Shopaholic.

It seems like spring is the season to shop! There are a ton of sales and you can get a whole spring/summer wardrobe. The mall is a dangerous place! I have been to the local mall 4 weekends in a row now! I can stay away! I LOVE all the new spring and summer clothes that are out! It's bad! SO bad that I actually got a job a t the mall now! (American Eagle)But who can resist the %40 off employee discount! That's how addicted I am to new clothes. It's sad. This will happen again in the fall...I just know it. I am a true shopaholic. Now when people think of that label they think "Oh, she empty's her account out on clothes she will never wear." NOT TRUE! You can be a shopaholic and still save money. Just be smart about it. Here are some tips to survive the change of seasons.

1. Never pay full price! This is a motto my whole family uses. Through a combination of coupons and sales used on the right days you can get like 4 items for the price of one.
Real life example: Rue 21, sale on body con skirts, buy one get one for a dollar plus I used a $5 dollar off coupon, got 2 skirts for $12!

2. Get store cards. A lot of people think that these are a bad idea because they are basically like a credit card. The pros, you can only use it at that store! So that limits you on they things you can put on that card opposed to a regular credit card. However you have to treat it like a debit card! Once you buy something with it, act like you don't have that money in your checking account anymore and pay it off as soon as you can! The good thing about a store card tho is once you hit a certain spending level, you actually really do start to save money because of the reward point.
Real life example: Victoria Secret, I own a store card to this place and for the first month owning it I do admit I had to pay full price on somethings. But soon after that I started racking up reward points, I never spend more than $25 dollars in that store now and I'll get like $60 worth! Great example, because of my reward points, I got 2 , $25 off your purchase cards, used both of them on a $70 Cardinals Jacket! Best purchase ever :)

3. What ever the dollar amount is of the item, think to your self, is that how many times your going to wear it? If something is $40 are you going to wear it 40 times? That would make it $1 a wear, and if you wear it more that 40 times, you'll be saving money, this is called an investment. However the less you wear it, the more expensive that piece is per wear. Wear it 10 times = $4 a wear. Only wear it twice = $20 a wear. Get the picture? It's easy to calculate, just take (P) Price divied by (W) how many times you think your going to wear it and that will give (I) The investment level or "price per wear". P/W = I

4. If you aren't sure about an item, wait to buy it. If you pull something from the rack just because it pretty and you aren't really sure what you would wear it with or if you even would wear it at all, just wait and come back to it. I do this all the time. If I don't instantly fall in love with a piece of clothing then more than %50 of the time I put it back and think about it. Sometimes I take a picture and go back home and see what I would wear it with. If I can come up with 3+ outfits, then it a winner. Then I'll go back, TRY IT ON, and then if it looks good, I'll buy it. Using the P/W = I formula though. If they don't have it in your size when you go back or don't have it at all, then it just wasn't meant to be and move on. Chances are the same item will turn up on a sale rack a few months later.

5. I can not stress this enough to my friends when we go shopping, TRY STUFF ON! Don't buy just because it is "pretty" or "cute". Defiantly don't estimate your size either! Just because you a are a 2 at Forever21 doesn't mean your a 2 and American Eagle! You don't want to be a victim of trying it on a t home and it not fitting, because if it dosen't fit, your not going to wear it. And if the mall is 40 mins away from where you live, like me, then chance are you aren't going to return it within the next 30 days. Unless you are a extreme shopaholic, like me, and go to the mall every weekend! :) If you don't feel like trying on that day then make it a "just looking" day. If you plan on trying stuff on, wear a easy-to-slip off shirt and some loose jeans, NOT BAGGY and not supper tight, just loose so your not taking 20 mins in a dress room just to get your clothes off.

Hope these Tips Help!
